Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an experienced Clinical Engineering Technologist to work within our Clinical Engineering team. Clinical Engineering is an essential clinical support service within our hospitals, providing whole life equipment management services for the range of medical equipment used to diagnose and treat patients throughout our hospitals. We are a dedicated team of around 35 members of staff based in workshops across the Trust.
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual, to lead our technical team at National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery to deliver high quality medical equipment management services to specialist neuro clinical services including Theatres and Critical Care. This post would be ideal for someone who is passionate about staff training and development and has the resilience and tenacity to ensure high standards of service performance amongst competing priorities.
The successful candidate will be supported to achieve RCT registration if they do not already hold it. The post-holder would be expected to support all team members achieve RCT registration within 3 years.
Interviews are likely to be held w/c 14th October. Applicants must be able to attend an on-site interview.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to work to high standards of safety and accountability and will plan and carry out scheduled preventative maintenance, servicing, non-routine repair, calibration, safety and acceptance testing on a wide range of medical equipment as well as maintenance of related computer systems. You will be a senior on-site representative of Biomedical Engineering, managing a team and overseeing communications with customers and suppliers. You will be working in the main hospital but you may be expected to travel to external sites. We value our staff and the expertise and professionalism they bring to our work. As part of your career development we will assess and monitor your training needs and ensure that you undertake in-house and formal manufacturers' training courses.
