Job summary

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Management Accountant, covering the directorates of Workforce and Training & Education.

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH), situated in the West End of London, is one of the largest NHS trusts in the United Kingdom and provides first class acute and specialist services both locally and to patients from throughout the UK and abroad.

The post holder will be based at 250 Euston Road in offices across the road from the main hospital site and there will also be the flexibility to work remotely for part of the working week.

Main duties of the job

Responsible to the Finance Analyst you will work in partnership with the relevant budget holders and service leads to provide an all-round financial management service including, forecasting, cost improvement tracking and providing support to business cases and the annual planning process where possible.

You will be expected to make an active contribution into the running of the Finance department, generating service improvement ideas and to deputise as and when required for the Finance Analyst and other management accountants. You will be a strong communicator and will be able to work with non-Finance staff to present complex financial information in ways which will ensure engagement and understanding.

Essential

  • Studying towards CCAB qualification or qualified by experience
  • Computer literacy in packages such as Excel and Word. Expected to design and create reports using financial spreadsheets and databases
  • Possess numeracy & literacy skills - up to 'A level or equivalent

Experience

  • Significant experience of working with Finance
  • Have experience of work undertaken unsupervised
  • Use of computerised accounting systems and spreadsheets

  • Some experience of working in Health Sector
