We have recently expanded our unit to five Haematology Wards and have Band 6 roles with individual development packages for: Band 5 cancer nurses seeking promotion, experienced nurses wanting a speciality change or Band 6 cancer nurses wanting to further develop.
UCLH is really easy to get to with close transport links. We are expanding to become the largest Clinical Haematology & Bone Marrow Transplant Unit in Europe. We are lucky enough to employ exceptional nurses and as a result the service has a deserved national reputation.

If you currently work in a different speciality at Band 6 but wish to move into Cancer Nursing...We can provide an individual development package to fast track you through cancer nursing competencies and provide educational courses.
If you are already a Band 6 Cancer Nurse but wish to further develop your career and progress...The largest haematology unit in Europe is a great place to develop further and to be close to the many opportunities for on-going development and promotion that occur within the nursing services.
A nurse led service at the cutting edge of nursing developmentsOur wards are nurse led and are supported by a nursing infrastructure including a dedicated nursing central venous access team, nursing chemotherapy team and a nursing educational team. Not only does this provide our ward nurses with opportunities to develop quickly, it gives them the time to care properly for patients. Our nursing ward ratios are on average 1 nurse to 4 patients, with the support of a nurse in charge.

A Great Working Environment and Exciting OpportunitiesCancer Services at UCLH are based in state of the art facilities. Inpatients are currently located in the modern UCH Tower and will be relocated to the Grafton Way Building in 2021. Haematology Day-care services are located in a purpose built Cancer Centre that opened in 2014. In 2021, Haematology inpatients transfer to a purpose built Haematology & BMT Inpatient Hospital next door to the Cancer Centre and UCL Cancer Institute creating a leading cancer campus.
