Job summary

The Cancer Division is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic General Manager.

The post holder will be joining a vibrant and supportive management team within the Cancer Division at UCLH. The successful candidate will work across the radiotherapy and proton beam therapy departments and play a key role in ensuring efficient and effective day to day management of our services and leading and liaising regularly with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

The General Manager, as a senior member of the management team, will be encouraged to proactively identify, pursue, and drive improvement opportunities throughout the department. This work will cover a wide range of services and challenges whether this be in the day care environment, outpatient settings or within our medical and administrative teams. The post demands a comprehensive understanding of cancer performance as well as a keenness, passion and skill for managing advances in the treatment pathways within the department.

Main duties of the job

Excellent human resource, financial and performance management skills will be essential to the job, and we are also looking for creativity, energy and compassion. Leading on change management will also be paramount for the post holder to achieve improvement in process and patient outcomes.

Successful candidates will have substantial service development and staff management experience. Other skills will include a high level of emotional intelligence, brilliant communication team-working and organisation skills, as well as excellent problem-solving abilities.
