Job summary

8PA in adolescent medicine and general paediatrics consultant to join the Paediatric and Adolescent Division

We are looking to appoint a consultant to work in the Adolescent medical team, named Treatment and Rehabilitation of Adolescents with Complex Conditions Service (TRACCS) within UCLH's Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine Division. The post will also include general paediatric responsibities, with an emphasis on adolescent medicine, as well as supporting the general paediatric team with on calls, attending and clinic.

Main duties of the job

As part of the team you would work with the other three consultants, registrar, fellow and SHO to see patients in clinics, day care and the adolescent ward. Outpatients often suffer from fatigue, pain, medically unexplained conditions and both physical and emotional difficulties. The adolescent unit has a mix of patients under different teams as well as the adolescent team who looks after young people with complex conditions for example affecting both physical and emotional health. There are many opportunities for working with multidisciplinary team colleagues. You would have responsibility for adolescent clinics, day care and inpatients.

General paediatric work would include 6 weeks attending and taking part in the 1 in 10 out of hours oncall rota, as well as monthly clinics.
