Job summary

We are seeking enthusiastic applicants for a Junior Clinical Fellow post (equivalent to CT1/2 level) to join University College Hospital's world class Trauma and Orthopaedic team.

The Trauma and Orthopaedic service at University College Hospital is a busy department, led by 21 consultants who specialise in a range of routine and complex elective and trauma work. As one of our valued Trauma and Orthopaedic juniors you will be supported by these consultants and a team of 15 registrars and senior fellows.

We encourage applications from driven individuals who are medically qualified Doctors (equivalent to CT1/2) and passionate about a career in Orthopaedic Surgery.

You must have a minimum of 6 months NHS experience to apply.

The post we are seeking to fill is for 12 months from 7th August 2024

Main duties of the job

The post will deliver extensive experience in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery including traumatic and non-traumatic orthopaedic conditions. The successful candidates will join the SHO on call rota with further timetabled operating and outpatient sessions to maximise clinical experience. In addition, there are ample academic, medical education and leadership opportunities. Daily Trauma multi-disciplinary meetings are held along with a range of MDT meetings with other departments. The department also runs a weekly SHO teaching programme.

The on-call rota is a full shift system to cover the Orthopaedic admissions. All Junior Clinical Fellows participate in the shift system with a banding supplement of 1A.
