Senior Clinical Practice Facilitator (CPF)

Job summary

The post holder will act as the specialist in education and practice development for the nursing, midwifery and CRP delivery workforce at UCLH and the NIHR UCLH Clinical Research Facility at University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.The post has two parts. Firstly, as the Clinical Practice Facilitator for the NIHR UCLH Clinical Research Facility (CRF). The second is as a Clinical Practice Facilitator for the research delivery workforce across UCLH. This workforce includes a team of nurses and CRPs based within the Joint Research Office and a wider group of delivery nurses, CRPs, and facilitators based across UCLH (as part of the UCLH Clinical Research Network (CRN) funded delivery workforce). The post holder will work with the Head of Research Delivery to identify training and competency requirements across these workforces and address these through the necessary training and other initiatives. The role will require a variety of skills including generic and specialty-related skills, leadership and management and research skills.

The post holder is required to be a focused, committed, enthusiastic individual with leadership skills and knowledge and experience of education in healthcare. The post holder must be a motivated individual who is able to work autonomously or in a team with a flexible approach to work planning and management.

Main duties of the job

Support delivery of high standards of patient focused evidenced-based care and research:-promote and support the development and implementation of evidence-based nursing practice for all levels of nursing, midwives and CRPs-promote and support the development and implementation of exemplary research practices and methods for all research staff (nurses, CRPs etc)-develop training and development strategies, competency frameworks, training programmes, training policies, events and supporting procedures -work collaboratively with nursing teams, research teams and wider CPF network to develop and deliver practice development projects/programmes relevant to trust objectives and local and national health agendas-work with CRF Quality Assurance Manager/Governance Manager in identifying training needs and jointly implement for CRF staff-promote and maintain effective communication, disseminate info related to research practice development across the CRF and delivery workforce-lead on identifying and respond through training plans, to specific and necessary skills, knowledge and competency required by researchersin specialist and designated areas within the Trust -work in accordance with UCLH Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and Core Standards and contribute towards achieving the Trust's "Top 10" Objectives-promote / facilitate provision of high standard holistic patient-centred care-attend appropriate meetings, work collaboratively with line manager and senior managers
