Job summary

The Department of Haematology at UCLH is seeking a Specialist Registrar-level (ST3-ST7+) Senior Clinical Fellow in Lymphoma to join our team.This is a full-time post based at UCH to start in August 2024 for 12 months.

The successful applicant will join the UCLH Lymphoma service with opportunities to gain specialist experience in both clinical and research aspects of this exciting field. We are looking for a clinical haematology trainee to join us to help develop our understanding of CNS Lymphomas.

UCLH is one of the largest haematology units in Europe with >100 dedicated inpatient beds in a purpose-built building which opened in 2022. The successful applicant will join a team of >30 haematology registrars who are supervised by >50 haematology consultants covering the entire range of malignant, non-malignant and experimental haematology. The postholder will also participate in the wider haematology on call rota and gain experience in the management of haematological emergencies and liaison haematology.

Main duties of the job

  • To work proactively alongside the consultants and clinical and research teams in the care of the patients in the Lymphoma Service.
  • To be an active sub-investigator on clinical trials in PCNSL and SCNSL
  • Critically analyse clinical research literature relevant to position and attend national and international conferences to keep abreast of
  • Develop skills in managing clinical databases and relevant statistical approaches.
  • To develop educational materials relating to CNSL, and deliver teaching to other members of the haematology team
  • To populate a database with the PCNSL and SCNSL patient cohort.
  • To be actively involved in research writing and publication, through development of clinical and research projects applied to these patient cohorts.

The appointee should hold MRCP or equivalent and hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC.
