Job summary

Consultant Clinical Oncologist in Uro-Onc Cancer at UCLH and Whittington Health NHS Trust.

We are seeking to appoint a 10 session Locum Consultant Clinical Oncologist with Specialist interests in Uro Onc cancer with a commitment to high quality patient care, innovative service models and excellence in education/training. The post holders will be employed by UCLH but will spend time at both UCLH and the Whittington Hospital.

UCLH is a specialist centre for the treatment of urological cancers. The surgical practice is based atUniversity College at Westmoreland Street Hospital and is the regional and tertiary referral Urological Surgery Centre. Medical oncology care is based at the Macmillan Cancer Centre where we offer an extensive program for treatingprostate,bladder and penile cancers. There is active engagement with neighbouring trusts for management of more complex patients and referral for trials.

The new consultant will be joining a friendly and forward thinking consultant team of clinical and medical oncologists who are committed to delivering highest standards of cancer care alongside a large team of other clinical and non-clinical professionals.

Qualifications / Certification

Essential

  • Medical degree and completed General Professional Training, or equivalent
  • Higher academic degree e.g. MD or PhD (or in final stages of preparation), or evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications
  • Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (or equivalent)
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or equivalent, in an appropriate specialty at time of interview - exact start date will be discussed with the candidate at interview | Non-UK trained doctors must provide evidence at interview that they are eligible for full GMC registration and entry on the Specialist Register in Clinical Oncology

  • Experience of and commitment to multidisciplinary working
  • Wide experience in managing treatment and follow-up of patients with cancer
  • Experience in clinical trials including early phase
