Job summary
We are looking for skilled midwives to work in our intrapartum services on the birth centre to provide a high standard of safe and individualised care to women/birthing people and their families at UCLH.
We are looking for midwives who are experienced in all aspects of intrapartum care who can flex across the different intrapartum areas.
The role will include support of women and their partners during all aspects of labour and birth including induction of labour, support and pain relief in labour, facilitation of birth (including water birth) and support during operative or instrumental birth. Care of the newborn and mother following delivery and personalised infant feeding support.

opportunity to work across the departments specialist services, such as their Foetal
Medicine Unit, Preterm Birth Clinics, and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU),

- Plan and implement individualised midwifery care that is women, pregnant person, child and family centred.
- Facilitate the participation of service users and their families in all decision making, ensuring informed choice dialogue.
- Ensure all risk assessments and referrals are completed and actioned and documented.
- Follow midwifery/obstetric guidelines where appropriate and liaise with the multidisciplinary team in the implementation of patient care, reporting and recording any deviations from the protocols.
- Organise, where appropriate, midwife/patient allocation within the team/practice/core area and support junior and student colleagues.
- Ensure all clinical records comply with Trust and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure midwifery practice is evidence based and be competent across all areas of midwifery skills.
- Participate in continuous professional development, including mandatory training and online learning.
- Satisfy the Clinical Governance agenda in all aspects of the delivery of care.

- 6 Months NHS Experience in maternity over the last 3 years
- At least 6 months NHS experience in that last 3 years
- Robust clinical knowledge, strong initiative, and a proactive approach to work

- Honesty and integrity, and a caring patient-centred approach
