Job summary
The haematology department at UCLH, are excited to advertise for the role of Senior Data Manager. The successful candidate will manage the Data Management team responsible for three UCLH services: CAR-T service; BMT service and Red Cell service alongside The Red Cell Network.
With 60% of the role overseeing data management of these pioneering services within UCLH and 40% to leading TRCN's data coordination and management the successful candidate will have the opportunity to drive the use of data to shape the future of services and patient care regionally and nationally. The position provides the opportunity to develop your skills in collecting, analysing, and disseminating raw data into actionable insights which can support service development and improve patient outcomes; drive and maintain robust databases that underpin data-driven initiatives and developments and develop innovative ways of streamlining and improving processes.
We are looking for a logical, forward-thinking individual with; excellent leadership, a drive for and strength in collaborative relationships and an ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders through strong communication skills.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the data management team for UCLH and TRCN.
The main duties include:
Communication and Representation
- Represent data management services to audiences within the Trust and beyond.
- Develop the team's data visualisation and interpretation capabilities to provide meaningful insights to clinicians and service management.
Reporting and Analysis
- Provide data for internal and external stakeholder research studies as requested
Information Systems and Data Management
- Develop and refine existing processes to improve data management capacity.
- Drive improvement in quality and completeness in existing data sets.
- Seek out and develop opportunities to eliminate duplication of effort and re-keying of data.
- Own, maintain and develop our standing datasets.
- Monitor the collection of data and data entry for the National Haemoglobinopathy Registry across TRCN.
- Monitor, plan for and manage data submissions for external bodies such as EBMT and internal stakeholders.
Research and Service Development
- Collaborate with other data managers, EBMT and TRCN to promote consistency in methods and approach.
- Contribute to the development of haemoglobinopathy data management services within the Trust, HCC and nationally.
People Management /Performance
- Manager and lead the performance of the team
- Coordinate and oversee data reporting across TRCN, liaising with relevant operational managers as necessary.
