Job summary
The overall purpose of the post is to reduce/prevent undue work related psychological distress for individuals and in UCLH staff teams. Utilising the psychological evidence base for this population, this post will support recovery, embed incident response and trauma pathways for staff while offering informal staff support and signposting to other internal and external support offers. It will link in with wider local and organisational initiatives, such as supporting the development and use of Well-being Champions, enhancing civility and respect and reducing the impact of violence & aggression.
Main duties of the job
- To provide psycho-education and trauma informed preventative measures (such as stress management, mindfulness techniques). These could include one off group sessions, or a programme of support to connect to ongoing cultural change within the organisation and localities.
- To work closely with other psychologists and non-psychology colleagues in broader clinical psychology service in UCLH, in order to be able to demonstrate a high standard of clinical skill, multidisciplinary engagement and flexibility.
- To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a persons psychological problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy.
- To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, teams and groups, drawing upon different explanatory models with a focus on the specialised needs of healthcare staff.
