Job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual, with experience of working in community pharmacy or at least with a good working knowledge of community pharmacy. This role provides an excellent opportunity to further develop your people skills as well as your analytical and presentation-skills, as you will be working on a wide-reaching programme of work. You will need to be good at working in partnership with other organisations, as well as people with different knowledge and skills, and with those at a senior level. You'll need to have some experience in project working and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) including PowerPoint and Excel.
You will be educated to degree level in pharmacy or be a registered pharmacy technician with experience of working in community pharmacy and have a strong interest in supporting new ways of system wide working as well as promoting the importance community pharmacy's role and of pharmaceutical services. Your skills in PowerPoint and Excel will be applied to develop and update dashboards and presentations, detailing the progress of the project at regular intervals.
The role is full time. The post-holder will be based in Central London at the main UCLH site. Travel to other primary and secondary care organisations within NCL may be required occasionally. (Flexible working between office and home would be expected.)
Main duties of the job
The Community Pharmacy Integration Project Manager (CPIPM) role has been developed to support the roll out, uptake and embedding of new and recently commissioned community pharmacy clinical services. (e.g. NHS Discharge Medicines Service, Smoking Cessation Advanced Service, NHS Hypertension case finding service and others). The post-holder will support the mobilisation and the local implementation of a national programme of work that will support delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan.
The postholder will be hosted by the North Central London (NCL) Integrating Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Programme (IPMOP) team based at University College London Hospitals. The postholder will receive support and line management from the NCL Community Pharmacy Integration Lead and both will receive support, direction and leadership from the NCL Community Pharmacy Clinical Lead (CPCL) as well as the London Regional Senior Pharmacy Integration Lead (RSPIL).
The post holder will also be required to work with other colleagues across the system (e.g. local community pharmacies, ICB medicines team staff, GP practices, LPC and Patient Groups) to support clinical governance and implementation of community pharmacy clinical services.
The above is just an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role. The job holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager.
