Job summary
The Medical Specialties Division is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Service Manager to work in its large administration team.
The postholders will have responsibility for supporting, evaluating and leading staff to provide a quality service which is efficient, stays within financial constraints and provides high levels of patient satisfaction. The post holder will act with autonomy for day-to-day management of a team of administrators within their remit and will lead and mentor non-clinical staff to ensure an excellent level of customer service. They will support the delivery of performance targets including national and local referral targets, activity plans, governance and workforce.
They will establish key working relationships with all members of the administrative and clinical teams including nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and support workers.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will also contribute to more senior level projects with the support of the Divisional Management team
The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate previous managerial experience in a large organisation preferably in the NHS with proven experience in effective management and leadership of staff. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively at directorate management team level is essential.
