Job summary

This is a full-time 12-month fix term position to cover maternity leave in the directorate of Gastrointestinal Surgery and division of Gastrointestinal Services. We are looking for a forward thinking, enthusiastic Colorectal Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist who is a team player and is willing to contribute to the strength of an established team.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work closely with Colorectal Consultant surgeons, Gastrointestinal Consultant Oncologists and wider members of the multidisciplinary team at UCLH. The post holder, together with other Colorectal Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists with the assistance of a Colorectal Clinical Nurse Support Worker will be responsible for supporting patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer through their treatment pathway and will provide cross cover when required.

Responsibilities will include attending consultant led clinics, conducting nurse led chemoradiotherapy clinics, ad-hock telephone clinics, carrying out holistic needs assessments, supporting the stratified follow-up pathway, data collection for national bench marking, engaging with service improvement projects, commitment to self-development and other junior members of staff; inpatient reviews and attending other locations within UCLH as required.
