Job summary

The Eastman Dental Hospital has been providing dental training for over 60 years. We have a worldwide reputation for providing high quality post graduate training in dental specialities and for training dental hygienists, therapists and dental nurses at a pre-registration level.

We have recently moved into a new, purpose built hospital known as the Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospitals providing a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care, whilst enabling a more flexible approach to working practices. However, to do this we need to recruit a significant number of new dental nurses.

The recruitment process involves the following stages:-

  • Application through NHS jobs
  • Numeracy and Literacy assessment
  • Interview

Main duties of the job

Assist in the treatment of patients care for the general well being of patients, assist with dental screening, carry out associated clerical work and help with the general smooth running of the department. Be able to deal with nervous patients, reassure new patients, there may be communication difficulties/ explain dental procedures, treatment to patients.

Duties will be carried out at all dental clinics and other necessary locationsthroughout the Trust as directed by the Senior Dental Nurse, Head Dental Nurse or General Manager.

Floor 4 -Dental treatment (Restorative, Endodontics & Adult special care)

Floor 3- Dental treatment for adults and young people (Periodontology, The School of Hygiene and Therapy & Orthodontics)

Floor 2- Paediatric Dentistry

Floor 1 -New Patient Zone

Floor -1 - Procedure zone dental services
