Job summary

This is a substantive Consultant Radiologist post in head and neck radiology at University College London Hospitals, based in the Radiology Department at UCH. The post-holder must have subspecialty experience in head and neck, as well as general / oncology cross sectional radiology, in order to support the delivery of the radiology services at UCH.

The successful appointee will work with a team of consultants who specialise in head and neck radiology. There are extensive opportunities for academic collaboration with University College London and its medical school.

The post-holder will work closely with the existing team of consultant radiologists to develop and enhance the imaging service provided to acute, outpatient and inpatient services and to strengthen the reporting profile of the department. The Radiology Department is very active in both teaching and research and the post-holder would be expected to participate in these.

Applicants should possess the FRCR or equivalent and be on the specialist register or within 6 months of obtaining their CCST.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join the Head and Neck Radiology team. The team is made up of 6 Consultant Radiologists. The main duties of this post are as follows:

Ability to perform all aspects of H&N imagingDevelop the H&N service under the guidance of the clinical leads. Participate in teaching and trainingParticipate in auditContribute to clinical research.

The post will involve 8.5 sessions per week of clinical work. This will involve the reporting of a wide range of head and neck scans and contributing to relevant MDTs.The successful applicant will also take part in the (low intensity, non-resident) general radiology on call rota.

Essential

  • Full GMC registration.
  • Relevant CCT or equivalent [equivalence must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of GMC].
  • Entry on the GMC specialist register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of AAC.
  • FRCR or appropriate specialist qualification.

Experience

Essential

  • At least one year of recognized sub specialty
  • Training in Head and Neck Radiology
