Job summary

This is a new post combining the previous UCL NIHR BioResource and Biobank Coordinator role and a new role for an exciting initiative that will support the development of UCLH into a genomically- and informatically- led hospital, revolutionising the way we offer the patients to engage in scientific research wherever they are in their care pathway.

Main duties of the job

Key duties/responsibilities include leading the development of new robust pathways for recruitment, electronic consenting, sample acquisition, transport, processing and retrieval; supporting the development of a "Hearts and Minds" PPIE informed approach to genetic consenting and recruitment and recruiting, developing and supporting a team to support delivery of these aims.

The post holder will hold a degree or equivalent experience in a scientific discipline and have a proven track record in initiating, managing and completing medical research programmes successfully. Ideally the post holder should have advanced database management and report generation skills and a history of successful project management including working within regulatory frameworks.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work creatively and independently. They will have excellent problem solving skills and able to work under pressure with competing priorities. They will also have the ability to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders and a track record of successful leadership and line management.
