Job summary
This is a substantive position of 3 sessions of a Consultant Radiologist post in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology to cover a vacancy in the Dental Division at University College London Hospitals, based at the Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospitals, UCLH. The Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals is one of the UK's largest hospitals for ENT and dentistry and provides a wide range of services.
The Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals is an outpatient building only and the Imaging Dept has 2x CBCT, 1 x 3T MRI scanner Dental Radiology and Ultrasound.
The post-holder must have subspecialty experience in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. The Dental Division is very active in both teaching and research and the post-holder would be expected to participate in these.
Applicants should possess the full GMC & GDC registration. Relevant CCT or equivalent [equivalence must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of GMC].
Entry on the GDC specialist register of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiologist or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of AAC. DDMRC RCR or appropriate specialist qualification.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work together with multidisciplinary teams to develop and provide the Dental Radiology services within the Department and to ensure development of the service under the guidance of the clinical lead.
The post-holder will be accountable to the Divisional Clinical Director. The post is within the in the Dental Division and works closely with the Imaging Division.
The Job plan will consist of various DCC activities as well as SPA's - DCC's will include reporting sessions for Cone Beam CT, Ultrasound Scanning lists and Fluoroscopy lists for Sialograms.

The post-holder will work closely with the existing excellent team of Dental Consultant Radiologists to develop and enhance the imaging service provided to the Dental division. They will also work very closely with the team of specialist Dental Consultants across the site. The Dental Division is very active in both teaching and research and the post-holder would be expected to participate in these.

Bringing the (now closed) Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital and the Eastman Dental Hospital together in a state-of-the-art building means we have created one of the largest specialist centres for the treatment of conditions relating to the head and neck, including dental; ear, nose and throat (ENT) and hearing, speech and balance. The aim is to provide world-leading, evidence-based care in a modern, purpose-built environment.
The main duties of this post are as follows:
- Ability to perform all aspects of Dental imaging, both interventional and non-interventional, adult Cross-sectional reporting.
- Develop the Dental Imaging service under the guidance of the Clinical Lead and in conjunction with both the Imaging Division and the Dental Division at UCLH
- Participate in teaching and training
- Participate in audit
- Contribute to clinical research if/when required.
Actively participate in annual appraisals and set objectives in conjunction with your manager.
