Job summary
The UCLH Department of Child & Adolescent Psychological Medicine / Services, Paediatric & Adolescent Division are looking to recruit 3 trainee Children & Young People's Wellbeing Practitioners to continue to improve children and young people's mental health services for patients being treated at UCLH. The training forms part of the service transformation initiative delivered by Health Education England as part of the Children and Young People's Mental Health (CYP-MH) programme. This is fixed term post with training funded by HEE.
This post is within the Paediatric & Adolescent Division, Department for Child and Adolescent Psychological Medicine / Services. You will contribute to the existing provision of psychological interventions to children and young people receiving treatment at UCLH, and their parents where relevant.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work closely with other members of the administrative team and clinical teams, including managers, administrators, nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and support workers. The post holder will be required to liaise with a range of staff internally and externally across the Trust and with partner and external organisations.
This is a training position post holder will undertake training at University College London alongside working in service for the UCLH Dept Child & Adolescent Psychological Medicine/Services. They will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development.

Applicants must be willing to travel into London to attend their lectures.
