Job summary

The Emergency Services Division are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Senior Doctor Rota Coordinator to join the team.

We are looking to recruit a motivated, organised individual to support with the coordination of recruitment, induction and rotations of all medical staff in the Emergency Department.

As rota coordinator you will be the first point of call for all junior doctor related queries and will work closely with the Division's General Manager and Consultant Junior Doctor leads to provide effective support to both junior doctor trainees and trust grade clinical fellows. This would be an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to broaden their medical staffing knowledge and leadership skills in a busy and varied service.

The post is for 12 months initially, with a view to extend to a permanent role.

Main duties of the job

This is a full-time post based at UCLH to support the medical staffing provision in the Emergency Department. In particular, the post-holder will focus on rota management, junior doctor induction, recruitment and filling any arising short and long-term rota gaps.

The post-holder will operate as a key administrative link for education and medical staffing matters across the Department and will provide a single first point of contact for the doctors, including pastoral care as needed. This role involves working with a wide range of others.

  • NHS experience Experience of managing a busy administrative workload, with conflicting priorities.
  • Experience of using initiative to solve problems.
  • Responsible for the management of the Emergency Department Medirota system, including changes and upgrades. In addition, building, monitoring and administering all doctor rotas.
  • Relevant experience involving the improvement of admin processes.
  • Experience in communicating issues effectively and clearly e.g. to senior members of staff

  • Designing or delivering induction programmes

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
