This is an exciting role supporting UCLH's new Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Lead, on a range of high quality strategic and operational projects to ensure we are delivering sustainable and tangible diversity and inclusion related solution in our workforce policies and practices that lead to increased patient outcomes. Additionally, the post holder will support UCLH's Staff Networks - BAME, LGBTQ+, Disability, Mental Health, and Women.Interviews to be held, week commencing 11th September 2023

Main duties of the job

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager will have responsibility for development and implementation including but not limited to:

  • Providing project management support to the EDI Lead
  • Supporting the EDI Lead to develop and implement strategy, schemes, policies and procedures to ensure the Trust meets legal, national and best practice obligations under the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda
  • Supporting departments to develop and implement inclusive strategies, schemes, policies, and procedures to ensure the Trust meets legal, national and best practice obligations under the Equality and Diversity agenda.
  • Supporting the EDI lead to prepare and deliver relevant reports, documentation and briefing papers to a variety of key internal and external groups ensuring effective communication and implementation of subsequent actions.
  • Liaising with local and national equality and diversity networks and agencies, developing effective networks, forums and communication channels championing the work of the trust.
  • Facilitating the sharing of best practice and information through effective evidence gathering and updates to key stakeholders.
  • Interpreting employment legislation, case law, best practice, and Trust policies to advise Managers on appropriate action to take with regard to employment issues.
