Job summary
The outpatient service at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is expanding. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Band 7 Speech & Language Therapist to join the established Movement Disorders service 1.0 WTE for one year to assess and treat people with Movement disorders in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
Main duties of the job
This caseload includes but is not limited to Parkinson's disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Multiple Systems Atrophy and Dystonia. The service includes MDT clinics, 1:1 assessment and intervention. Applicants must be LSVT Loud certified.

- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HPC Licence to practice as SLT
- Registered member of RCSLT
- Member of Neurological CEN
- Successful completion of highly specialist post-graduate study relevant to communication (e.g., dysarthria, dyspraxia, dementia) and swallowing disorders (accredited dysphagia course) at MSc level or equivalent
- Basic counselling
- Training in SLT student clinical supervision

- Evidence of working within the NHS

- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant field post-registration, including 1 year at a specialist level
