Would you relish the opportunity to be able to spend more one to one time with your patients and their newborns? At UCLH we are looking for experienced midwives with outstanding customer service skills to work in our private maternity team.
Main duties of the job
Previous experience of working with private patients is not essential, as long as you have strong midwifery skills and superb interpersonal skills - if you are new to working with private patients, it will give you a different perspective on patient care, which you will be able to take with you as you continue your career path.

Based on our four-bedded private ward, The Fitzrovia Suite, your time will be dedicated to the clinical care of our private maternity patients. You will support mothers through their birth and you will be central to providing quality postnatal support, ensuring babies are given the best possible start in life.
As a private midwife you will have a close working relationship with our world-class obstetric consultants and will be given the opportunity to take responsibility for your patients during their care.
Our private patient's team is part of an enthusiastic, friendly, motivated multidisciplinary team within an internationally acclaimed centre of excellence for maternity care. Our caseload is a mixture of straightforward and very complex births, making every day different. Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Midwife on part 10 of NMC register.
- Knowledge of NMC/LSA
- Understanding the statutory requirements for midwifery. (Newly qualified midwives must complete a 6 months development programme).
Desirable
- ENB course 997 or other teaching qualification.
- Neonatal course of relevant experience

- Evidence of contributing to practice development and research in clinical area
