Job summary

We seek 2 dynamic nurses with amazing interpersonal skills to support the leads in the vaccine and wellbeing programme across UCLH, covering both hospital and Outreach Services.

This role forms an integral part of the vaccination delivery within the north central London (NCL) Integrated Care System (ICS).

The role is hosted by UCLH on behalf of NCL ICS and you will be joining a friendly, supportive team with a great sense of comradery and team spirit.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Nurse, you will deliver a safe and effective vaccination service, overseeing a team of nurses and vaccinators, supporting registered Healthcare Professional colleagues and working alongside other staff in both the Hospital and Outreach vaccine sites.

The Hospital site will include both in-patients and outpatients and also seasonal vaccinations for staff.

This will be an adaptable role and you will be required to support the vaccination sites by carrying out clinical assessment/consent, signing the vaccinator workforce off as competent, supporting the vaccinators as they develop their skills and providing supervision as required.

  • Knowledge and Qualifications Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Registered Nurse - current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council
  • Evidence of continuous personal and professional development and willingness to commit to ongoing CPD.

Desirable

  • Current immunisation training / update or willingness to undertake
  • Further training or experience in a clinical supervisory position

Knowledge / Experience

Essential

  • Specialist knowledge in a relevant subject to post graduate level
  • Knowledge of immunisation schedules in accordance with national recommendations
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Working knowledge and literate with computer skills to use of word document, internet access and email correspondence and electronic record keeping
  • Practical skills and knowledge of cold chain procedures and medicines management.

  • Previous experience in similar role in public sector
  • Experience of providing supervision
