Job summary
Clinical Research Fellowships in Clinical Oncology (ST3+ Level)
Appointment to these 12-month posts offers a unique opportunity to join the clinical and research activity being undertaken by the Clinical Oncology team at University College London Hospital.
All candidates should have full registration with the GMC, MRCP or equivalent, and will have passed the Part 1, or ideally the final, FRCR Clinical Oncology examinations. Experience of clinical research and successful publication in peer-reviewed journals is desirable.
Main duties of the job
Post holders will work directly with Consultant Oncologists and alongside other clinical oncology specialist trainees. Time will be equally split between providing clinical care to oncology patients and radiotherapy-based clinical research.
The successful applicant will play a key role in the delivery of several collaborative research projects in paediatric molecular radiotherapy. This post will provide experience that will facilitate an application for a higher research degree.

Essential
- Medical degree
- Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent
- GMC registration and entry on the appropriate GMC Specialist Register
- Completed core medial training or equivalent
Desirable
- Knowledge of the Clinical Governance framework of the NHS (including Research governance) and understanding of current changes in the organisation and management structures of the NHS. Ability to act within these parameters
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists

- Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Clinical audit experience
Desirable
- Undergoing or completed higher specialist training in clinical oncology
