Job summary

Are you a driven and dynamic Telecomms professional looking to move into a role where you can make a difference? As the successful candidate, you will be involved in providing third line technical expertise and guidance within the voice/telephony support team. You will be the SME for key technologies within our core telephony infrastructure, ensuring delivery, implementation and support of the voice platforms are met across the organisation. This role is suited to an experienced and highly skilled Avaya telephony engineer working with current Avaya architecture and other industry standard telephony experience.

As a voice engineer you will be responsible for resolving technical issues and problems via the service management ticketing system. You will have experience of working with a variety of Avaya technologies. You should have excellent focus to detail and a methodical approach to solving complex issues and problems. You will possess an excellent knowledge of Avaya Aura and IP Office products, how they operate and how to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Desirable skills are knowledge and experience of voice recording, call logging systems and of radio technologies.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to have a strong background in managing, configuring and administering Avaya telephony equipment. This would include thorough experience working on an enterprise Avaya Aura CM10 call centre, including SMGR, AASM, AVP/ASP, ASBC, AES, AAMS, CMS, AADS, AAFD, Onex, SIP/ISDN media gateways and other peripheral infrastructure servers associated with current Avaya telephony. Voice recording experience is a requirement, preferably Redbox. A strong working knowledge of Avaya IPO is required also. The ability to interact and build bridges with other technology teams and operational staff is a distinct advantage..

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in specialist IT related subject with additional specialist training and knowledge
  • Professional IT qualifications i.e. Avaya ACA ACS, Cisco CCNP Voice or equivalent or significant experience working as a telecoms/voice engineer at this level
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation level qualified

  • Extensive experience of Avaya and Cisco VOIP hardware installations and troubleshooting knowledge, particularly covering Avaya telephony switches, session border controllers, session managers, gateway routers, Cisco VOIP systems and voice recording platforms
  • Call centre exposure in a highly intensive working area. Experience in troubleshooting telephony issues and problems and employing a number of proven techniques and tools to perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes and solutions
