Job summary

The Supply & Distribution department based at Rainham provides medical equipment and consumables to front line operations.

In this role you will be working as part of the Supply & Distribution team packing bags and pouches containing medical equipment and consumables for use by front line staff responding to emergency calls.

You will be based in the newly established packing unit working alongside the warehouse team to ensure the continued supply of bags and pouches for the treatment of patients.

Main duties of the job

The main duties for this role are to provide fully stocked in date bags and pouches for the treatment of patients maintaining accurate records to provide traceability.

Successful candidates will be focused and be able to work as part of a team.

You will need to be able to work accurately and concentrate for extended periods of time whilst packing using the packing app.

Experience of stock management would be beneficial as you will be required to manage the stock on your packing station.

Job responsibilities

  • The Medical Consumables Packing Operative will be responsible for preparing consumablesbags and pouches to a standard load list for use by frontline staff in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures and to work as part of the Logistics Team to ensure a consistent and reliable supply to Operations.
  • The post holder will report directly to the Warehouse Team Leaders but is also required to liaise with Make Ready managers with regards to availability and management of bags and pouches.
  • The post holder will be responsible for introducing new bags and pouches across the Trust, and accounting for it on an asset management system then maintaining, servicing andaccounting for it during its lifespan within the Trust.
  • Promote safe and cost-effective use of medical consumables and equipment by conforming to the Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • To support the implementation and maintenance of any changes to the bags and pouchesand processes across the Trust.
  • To manage the end-to-end process of the storage and supply of bags and pouches Trustwide.
  • To assist and supervise with the receipt of deliveries from suppliers and the onward supplychain to Trust locations.
  • To develop systems, policies and procedures related to bags and pouches for the Quality Management System.
  • To work with the Warehouse Team Leaders to ensure the Asset Management System is up todate and reviewed.
