Once these awards are completed (usually within 12 month of your start date), you will move to the bottom of band 6. This will still be a pay rise compared, 75% of pay at the top of band 6.

Main duties of the job

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a diverse team, supporting the clinical education programmes for Ambulance Operations in one of the busiest ambulance services in the world.

We are looking for highly motivated, dynamic and innovative non-registrant practising clinicians (Emergency Ambulance Crew or Emergency Medical Technician) to join our team to inspire new and existing staff, delivering a range of educational programmes.

You will undertake a development programme as a Trainee Associate Clinical Tutor with a commitment to complete the qualifications detailed below and on completion will be eligible to apply for a position of qualified Associate Clinical Tutor.

The teaching qualifications are a Certificate in Education/PGCE or equivalent Level 3 Assessor qualification (Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent)

You will be actively involved in promoting best practice across the Trust. Additionally, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide pastoral care for students, as well as visible clinical leadership.

You will deliver both clinical/technical related education and training within your scope of knowledge.

This will take place within education centres in a formal classroom setting and virtual classrooms and within an operational environment where there will be patient interaction on operational vehicles as Emergency Ambulance Crew/Emergency Medical Technicians.

About us

The Clinical Education and Standards department is a diverse team, responsible for all clinical education programmes in the London Ambulance Service.

Our team is committed to educational excellence, and we strive for developing, delivering, recording and reporting the very best to ensure the clinical staff of the London Ambulance Service provide the highest patient care.

The Clinical Education and Standards department has specialist education facilities, located at Dockside and Brentford. As part of our team, you will be encouraged to innovate and advance clinical education.

You will be supported to maintain your own clinical and educational expertise, and you will have access to high quality professional development programmes.

Our centres will provide access to state of the art digital learning, and our portfolio of education programmes will ensure a variety of work that both challenges and excites.

We are seeking someone ready to lead change in clinical education. The location you are posted to will be dependent on departmental demand and will be discussed during the recruitment process.
