Job summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a diverse team, supporting the clinical education programmes for Ambulance Operations in one of the busiest ambulance services in the world.We are looking for highly motivated, dynamic and innovative Driving Tutors to join our team to inspire new and existing staff, delivering a range of educational programmes.

You will be based at one of our Education Centres at Brentside West London) or Dockside (East London)You must meet the essential criteria required in the in person specification.You will be actively involved in promoting best practice across the Trust. Additionally, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide pastoral care for students, as well as visible leadership.

Main duties of the job

Provide approved driver training within the scope of the Education & Standards department, delivering driver education and training to all grades of clinical and support staff within the Trust. This will take place:o within education centres in a formal classroom setting and virtual classroomso within an operational environment where there may be patient interactiono on operational vehicles

Deliver these activities, as scheduled to meet the demands of the agreed training plan, including the monitoring and mentoring of all learner activities.Actively involved in promoting best practise across the service whilst maintaining compliance with local and national policies and standards.Ensuring all Awarding/Accrediting bodies' requirements are adhered to and met, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, directives and policies, including role-modelling exemplary driving standards.

  • Level 4 Diploma Emergency Response Ambulance Driving Instructor
  • Full, C1 driving licence, valid in the UK and no more than 3 penalty points
  • Current DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) registration
  • Demonstrate ability to facilitate training in both a classroom and operational environment.
  • Evidence of a proactive approach to own CPD and development of professional practice
  • Experience of supervising and mentoring staff
  • Experience of delivering emergency driving instruction and learning
  • Demonstrate ability to drive under emergency response conditions to the requirements of high speed driver regulations
  • Effective people management skills
  • Effective written and oral communication and the ability to network successfully with colleagues in other agencies and emergency services
