Are you interested in joining the Safeguarding Team within LAS as a Safeguarding Specialist for the North East sector in a full time permanent post?
As a Safeguarding Specialist you will regularly deliver safeguarding training as well as being visible in the North East sector as a point of contact for safeguarding advice. You will also be required to develop working relationships with our external statutory safeguarding partners, being the face of LAS and representing the organisation at a number of statutory safeguarding meetings.
Your role will also include facilitating safeguarding supervision within the organisation in order to support the Trust with supervision compliance.
You must have knowledge of and be passionate about the safeguarding agenda and have the drive and enthusiasm to implement change and educate staff within the Trust.
You should be a self-motivated individual who is able to work independently as well as being able to work effectively as part of a team. You should have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, as part of the role will be to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to Datix reports and produce safeguarding documents.
This will be a full-time, permanent post with inner-London weighting, and no unsocial hours. Whilst your base will be at LAS HQ Waterloo, you will be expected to work within your sector area or other locations throughout the week, as well as home working.
Main duties of the job
Safeguarding Training L2/3 to LAS staff and additional CPD's throughout the year
Review and participation in statutory reviews for your sector, including SAR, SPR's, DHR's etc
Review and participation in joint agency reviews (JAR's) for your sector
Safeguarding supervision to LAS staff
Provide feedback and learning to LAS staff following a referral and feedback from our external partners

You are joining a dynamic and hardworking safeguarding team who works closely together whilst remote working. The team works collaboratively and collectively to ensure the aims and objectives of the team are met on a daily basis, this includes meeting training needs, statutory reviews and ensuring the work plan is completed.
