Come and join our EDI team at London Ambulance Service as an EDI Business Partner. There are two positions and this role will be based in the EDI team and report directly to the Head of EDI and work closely with internal stakeholders including the executive team, staff networks and staff at all levels across the Trust.
The purpose of this post is to support the development and implementation of the Trust EDI objectives and priorities, providing expert in depth diversity and inclusion expertise and advice, ensuring that advice provided is positive, proactive and influential in its contribution. Some of the duties include:-
Develop practical, comprehensive and deliverable Equality, Diversity and Inclusion tools that enable transparent workforce transformation and delivery of high quality services and care to the staff and patients of London Ambulance Service.
Be a role model in terms of customer service standards, internal networking and governance within the EDI team and beyond.
Develop and deliver EDI training programmes.
Analyse EDI data to drive improvement.
Main duties of the job
To support the strategic lead for the Trust's equality, diversity and human rights agenda with the aim of mainstreaming equality and diversity throughout the organisation's culture, workforce practices and healthcare provision.
Ensure our National EDI submissions are submitted in a timely manner, this will include WRES, WDES, Staff Survey, PSED, Gender Pay Gap and Race Pay Gap, with evidence of actions to improve scores.
Work with Directors, managers and clinicians to implement and review effective processes, e.g. Oversee Equality Impact Assessments, to ensure that service developments reflect the needs and priorities of different groups. Embed and monitor learning from Trust EIA's, future proofing learning and governance.
Work in collaboration with other directorates and corporate functions to ensure that EDI is fully integrated into the Trust's service delivery and action plans.
Support with developing, implementing and monitoring the Trust's Equality Objectives and project manage action plans to achieve them.
Support and report to the EDI Committee and EDI Implementation Group.

These plans will often be highly complex and highly sensitive and will therefore need considerable negotiation and communication expertise.
Develop the WDES/ WRES reports and action plans in line with national and local agenda, ensuring the wider workforce understand the implications and undertake the necessary actions. Recognise that this may be received with hostility in antagonistic environments, therefore the post holder will need to be able to navigate and create agreement to barriers.
Lead on the Gender Pay Gap and Ethnicity Pay Gap reporting and working with the relevant teams and staff networks to reduce the gaps.
Advise the Trust on taking action to promote equality of access and opportunity and policies that are fair and flexible to service users and staff who are affected by them.
Support and work closely with People and Culture Directorate to mainstream diversity into employment policies and practices.
Act as the subject matter expert in relation to equality and diversity training, identifying requirements and commissioning and/or delivering briefing sessions and training programmes for managers, staff and other stakeholders as necessary. This will include the development of relevant e-learning packages and input to the design and delivery of induction and mandatory training sessions as appropriate, working with the Learning and Development team.
