Job responsibilities

• The post holder will develop and manage educational activity within the SP-PC and UCR car programmes to include the provision of high quality teaching, assessment and evaluation. They will also act as a point of liaison with higher education institutions and other national bodies as required. The role will require the establishment of robust clinical governance processes, including systems for clinical audit and peer review as well as monitoring and oversight of clinical placements. There is an expectation that the post holder will further develop clinical audit and research activity within the SP-PC and UCR car programmes, publishing and disseminating findings as appropriate

Person Specification

Essential and desirable

Essential

• Master's degree in advanced clinical practice or equivalent clinical discipline
• Extensive portfolio of continuing professional development consistent with Health Education England Advanced Practice definitions or equivalent
• Extensive recent experience and evidence of working as an autonomous practitioner at an advanced/specialist clinical practice level incorporating an expanded scope of practice.
• Experience of providing clinical supervision in an advanced/specialist practice setting
• Line management or team leadership experience
• Teaching experience to including planning, delivery and assessment of education.
• Conducting clinical audit, evaluation and/or research in a clinical setting
• Experience of developing clinical services including care pathways and guidelines.
• Pharmacological knowledge incorporating legal and regulatory aspects of medicines management and use of an expanded formulary including patient group directions.
• Demonstrable ability to employ a range of management and leadership skills in clinical and operational settings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present confidently to a range of audiences.
• Highly developed organisational skills with an ability to prioritise work and deliver outcomes in line with work plans
• Ability to work to deadlines and produce a high calibre of work under pressure

Desirable

• Post-graduate management and leadership qualification
• Independent prescriber qualification
• Demonstrable experience of providing clinical assessment and advice within a Clinical Hub/ Clinical Support Desk/Integrated care setting.
