Job summary
The Deputy Director of Operations role within our integrated care services will occupy a leadership role shaping and driving urgent care services across London. They will work with the LAS Trust Board, senior managers and external partners to develop a new five year strategy for the Trust that responds to changes in the health and care environment and develop this into a sustained transformation programme to meet the needs of patients.
The role involves close working with the five new statutory integrated care systems of which the LAS forms a key part, including their integrated care boards, hospital trusts, local authorities and primary care networks. This role provides the platform for making a significant contribution to one of the highest profile organisations in the NHS.

We coordinate and oversee the production of the LAS business plan, giving a clear set of priorities for the year
We also lead the development of strategic partnerships - across all regional and systems partners to ensure strategic alignment, solve common problems and create improved models of care for Londoners.

As a member of the Integrated & Emergency Care Directorate (IUEC) senior leadership team to be accountable for:
Providing the multi-disciplinary clinical workforce capacity and capability to successfully deliver telephone clinical assessment to quality, financial and contractual targets across IUEC services.
Delivering the effective and timely deployment of appropriate IUEC resources within capacity constraints working with partner providers holding them to account to provide resource with the same exacting standards as the LAS;
Delivering day-to-day excellent high quality interface management with clinical and non-clinical departments ensuring patients are guided to the appropriate care by configuring resources, achieving the required contractual targets and (in turn) holding individuals and teams accountable for delivering their KPIs and objectives;
Responsible for adherence to agreed clinical standards, protocol and safe practice in the delivery of clinical practice including information governance, prescribing and medico legal requirements and clinical workforce recruitment, management and training compliance;
Representing the Director of IUEC when required; being the public face of the LAS and enhancing the reputation and profile of the Service; Making the most effective decisions, often in real time, on behalf of the LAS that affect patient care, the public, staff and the Service using well-informed judgement in collaboration with a range of stakeholders;
Working with internal and external stakeholders in relation to performance and service delivery to proactively deliver appropriate responses to meet the challenges and needs of patients; Responsible for creating and delivering operational action plans associated with performance and being the single point of contact for external parties for allocated areas of service;
Making and being accountable for decisions on behalf of the Trust at strategic level requiring working an On Call out of hours rota, covering days, nights and weekends;
