Once in post as a London Ambulance Service Advanced Paramedic Practitioner (Critical Care) you will participate in clinical practice development and evaluation, as well as provide support and mentorship/leadership to clinical staff at a variety of levels. You will also be required to complete a relevant post-graduate qualification.

Main duties of the job
If you're successful, you will quickly gain experience of assessing and managing undifferentiated patients across a number of clinical and operational areas. You will also undertake shifts in the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
The Advanced Paramedic Critical Care (APP-CC) will provide 24/7 enhanced clinical support and supervision of staff across a range of clinical settings. Working as an autonomous/lone practitioner the APP will provide advanced clinical management and co-ordination of complex and challenging care to patients in clinically demanding situations and environments. APPs will be selectively targeted and deployed as a primary response, co-responder or additional resource.
Clinicians at this level will exhibit an advanced breadth and depth of knowledge combined with critical thinking and expertise in patient assessment, point of care patient diagnostics and clinical interventions which will be supported by an extended scope of practice beyond that required for paramedic registration. In addition, the Advanced Paramedic Practitioner will be expected to develop knowledge and skills in identified areas of specialist practice and contribute to pan-service education, training, and research and audit activity.

Essential
- BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science or equivalent clinical academic qualifications.
- Commitment to achieve the relevant Post Graduate (Level 7) advanced practice qualification as determined by the employer.
- HCPC registered Paramedic
- Willingness to undertake further development to become a non-medical independent prescriber
Desirable
- Master's degree or Post Graduate qualification in a relevant field
- A recognised teaching qualification or equivalent demonstrable ability with evidence of teaching in practice and/ or classroom situations.
- Mentoring and coaching; minimum of PPEd level 3 (certificate) or significant demonstrable development of mentoring and coaching skills through formal learning and application
