Job summary

The post holder will be the operational manager for all the components that comprise NHS partnership with Counter Terrorism Policing based in London (Southern Hub). The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the operational effectiveness of the service and contribute toward the strategic pathway in consultation with Counter Terrorism Policing. In consultation with Counter Terrorism Policing the post holder will be responsible for overseeing the operational processes as set out in the Standard Operational Policy including referral, screening, assessment, intervention, to case closure and as appropriate consult with core business partners, stakeholders and commissioners of service.

The role will require security clearance to SC - Please note that this is a formal requirement for the job and can take in excess of four months from the point of SC application submission.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be the line manager and supervisor for the band 7 mental health practitioners (MHPs) and will work in partnership with the consultants and psychologists within the service to ensure that appropriate interventions are being delivered at the right time. This will entail oversight of and working with consultants, nurses and SMT, including senior police to ensure risk management processes are in place and clinical pathways are suitable where appropriate.

The post holder will be the overall line manager for additional NHS staff below band 8a.

There is an expectation that the role will provide some oversight of the entire team caseload, and in particular detail on the complex cases.

The post holder will be responsible for recruitment of NHS staff into the team.

To oversee and be actively involved in the triaging function for the national service in partnership and collaboration with sub-contracted health providers.To effectively manage the resources in the team to ensure suitable coverage of service delivery across the South/East of England.

In partnership with the consultants and Service Lead the post holder will be responsible for setting the strategic vision for this service, this will include governance and performance. The post holder will also be involved in the continual development of the service and its growth.
