Job summary
A post has become available for a Specialist Eating Disorder Nurse at St Ann's Eating Disorder Outpatient Service. This is a challenging and rewarding role that allows clinicians to further develop their nursing and therapeutic skills to manage both physical and mental health in a specialist area. Successful candidates will have strong engagement and motivational/ health coaching skills, effective written and verbal communication skills and be adept in managing both physical health and mental health needs. We are looking for a bright and motivated individual who approaches challenges with enthusiasm and has a passion for helping individuals make life changing steps towards recovery and management of their eating disorder.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team and use their nursing skills in variety of different settings and with a variety of complex needs.
Main duties of the job
The specialist Service provides inpatient, outpatient, and day programme services for patients across a large area of London. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team and use their nursing skills in variety of different settings and with a variety of complex needs. The Post holder will be able to develop skills, knowledge and gain experience in this specialist field and work alongside a knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated MDT, active in research, education and training. Specialist training and professional development, learning and teaching opportunities are integral to the post.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering evidence-based eating disorder treatments, managing their own caseload, running a close monitoring clinic, assessing patients, and organising treatment. The post holder will need to work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, Doctors, Nurses, psychologists, therapists, peer support workers, Occupational therapists and other health and social services to ensure safe management of a complex and high-risk patient group.
