Job summary
The post-holder will contribute to the provision of psychology as a member of the Acute Care Service, in Enfield. The post will be based in a new Inpatient Ward on the Chase Farm Site. Cumbria Villa is a 15 bedded mixed gender ward. Service Users with Low Intensity needs will be supported on a Step-Down Pathway from Acute/Crisis Inpatient admissions towards discharge. This post carries the specific remit of delivering psychologically informed groups and brief individual interventions to inpatients on the ward. The post holder will support senior colleagues in working with the ward teams to develop a systematic, consistent and effective response to the common issues that arise within acute care settings that can have a powerful impact on the overall effectiveness and quality of experience for people using the service and the staff working in it.
Main duties of the job
1.To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user's difficulties, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist2. To carry out assessments, including risk assessments, developing formulations and implementing psychologically informed interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.3. To assist in the coordination and running of psychologically informed low-intensity therapeutic groups for inpatients4. To deliver psychosocial interventions (i.e. CBT-informed, DBT-informed, psychoeducation and supporting family work) as per service user care plan under the supervision of a qualified psychologist5. To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all service users on the inpatient wards6. To liaise with and offer support to families and carers of people who are currently on the ward7. To collaborate with other team members and attend relevant Therapies Team meetings in order to provide holistic support to patients and their families8. To be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team attending and contributing to multi-disciplinary meetings.
9. Take an active role in supporting people to access community resources where appropriate10. To work with your supervisor to plan and monitor your own clinical work load and other activities.
