Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Grade Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join full time in the Generic / Neurodevelopmental Community CAMHS Service in Enfield based at Bay Tree House, Enfield.
The post holder will contribute to the provision of a specialist and multi-disciplinary community-based Child and Adolescent Mental Health service to the borough of Enfield. The post will develop sound working relationships with other professionals including the Local Authority, schools and GPs.
The community CAMHS team is supportive and welcoming, and we encourage applications from professionals with a broad skill base, as the work will assess and treat a diverse range of mental health conditions including neurodevelopmental concerns.
BEHMHT CAMHS were awarded 'Good' by the CQC in January 2018.
Main duties of the job
This post is part of Enfield Specialist CAMHS. The service includes a number of Generic and specialist teams for Children, Young People and Families. Enfield CAMHS (Generic / Neurodevelopmental Service) is multi-disciplinary team that offers a comprehensive outpatient-based service to children and adolescents under the age of 18, and their families, who are registered with Enfield GPs for a range of mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders. Within Enfield Specialist CAMHS Services, there are other key services listed below. There are also close links with the Educational Psychology Service, Children's Social Services, Voluntary Sector organisations, General Practitioners and with Paediatrics.

Job responsibilities
- To manage an established caseload of approximately 60-80 patients many of whom use medication
- To contribute to the management of clients under the care of non-medical staff and give medical input to their management plans.
- To develop treatment plans for 4-5 new clients per month
- To contribute to assessment regarding complex mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions.
- To offer consultation to the Access Team, weekly MDT and through joint assessment.
- To comply with all legal obligations covering clinical practice e.g. Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, safeguarding procedures
- To complete relevant paperwork, including maintaining the electronic record and participating in routine outcome monitoring of clinical work
- To teach and supervise medical staff and other professionals in all aspects of psychiatric care
- To participate in the weekly team meeting and undertake other duties, as negotiated, that contribute to the good functioning of the clinical team
- To provide clinical and professional leadership within the post and take part in management activities and governance processes related to the post or the wider service within which it is embedded.
- As a staff grade psychiatrist, to have an integral role in the performance of the team, further development of the service, and the development of the clinical pathways and priorities of the service line
- To take part in the Tri-Borough on-call rota.

- MBBS or equivalent qualification
- Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a current licence to practise from the GMC at intended start date
Desirable
- MRCPsych
- Qualifications or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management

- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
