Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Child Development Team in Enfield.
The CDT is an MDT which includes specialist Clinical Psychology provision for the assessment and treatment of Autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions in young children up to age 6. The post holder will provide specialist assessment and intervention to children and families in CDT, supervision of junior psychologists and will support the development of the service. Previous experience of neurodevelopmental assessment in preschool children is advantageous.

Main duties of the job
- To provide specialist psychological assessments of children referred to the team. Assessments are carried out individually or jointly with other colleagues from health.
- To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment. To offer psychological support to the parents.
- To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups.
- To participate in the social communication clinic as part of the multi-disciplinary team for assessment of autism.
- To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.
- To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans.
- To provide specialist psychological advice guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients' formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
8.To contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings and agencies serving the client group
