We are excited that our prison services are transforming in partnership with other healthcare providers across our BEH London Prisons and are looking for candidates who are interested in working in prison mental health to come and work with us in our Mental Health Hub. This role involves overseeing the provision of psychological assessment and therapies across Early Days in Custody, Planned Care, Unscheduled (Crisis Care) and Release and Transfer teams.

The post holder will support psychological therapists in delivering evidence-based interventions for men with complex difficulties, including trauma and personality disorders, and will provide clinical supervision and line management to a range of therapists, including Clinical and Forensic Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.

The successful applicant will lead on the review and development of clinical pathways alongside the Head of Therapy for Prisons, and will have the opportunity to engage in a range of activities such as clinical work and delivery of training, as well as leading on service improvement initiatives and evaluations.

Main duties of the job

Our current focus is on embedding a trauma- informed approach to care across the prison, as well as developing our pathways for those with neuro-divergence, so experience and knowledge of trauma informed models of care and neurodevelopmental conditions is likely to be helpful.

The post holder will contribute to risk assessment and management, working alongside partner agencies and prison colleagues to improve outcomes for those most at risk.

The successful applicants must have experience in working in forensic settings and in the supervision/line management of qualified staff. Excellent communication skills, strong IT literacy skills, and skills in data collection and evaluation are also required for this post.

We are committed to supporting our staff with their professional development. The successful applicant will enjoy the support of a motivated team of clinicians dedicated to the provision of the highest possible standard of clinical care and treatment.
