Band 7 Children's Occupational Therapy( SEN)
We are a friendly, supportive, OT team who report high levels of job satisfaction. We offer a professionally led service with direct support from an OT Clinical Lead Specialist, good working relationships with the MDT, monthly in-service team training, effective supervision and External Training opportunities through the Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist who wishes to develop specialist skills in Paediatrics within a dynamic team. We are looking for a creative, friendly and enthusiastic OT to join our established Children's Team. We are located near Enfield Town, with easy commuter links from central London/Hertfordshire.
You will work within the SEN OT service visiting children in mainstream and special school settings providing their OT as specified in their EHCP's and assessing new children referred to SEN OT. You will also hold a small community caseload as well as having the opportunity to facilitate training and groups sessions to schools and families. The service is committed to evidence-based input and offer CO-OP, M-CIMT, Parent Coaching & Community leisure groups within our pathways of care.
There is a maximum of £6,500 contribution towards relocation fees for new staff moving to work for the Trust
Main duties of the job
Your job will be to provide specialised SEN Occupational Therapy for a defined caseload of children with OT specified in their EHCP (0-25 years) and to take the lead in developing the quality of EHCP's & SEN OT provision within the OT team. The role will involve working closely with Local Educational Authority SEN team, with the opportunity to build clinical expertise within this specialist area. You will also have opportunities to provide training packages to schools and parents.
You will provide OT assessment and intervention to children in the community to ensure you maintain your clinical skills across different age ranges and areas of clinical need and manage the SEN OT caseload of children and young people with a range of needs including those with complex disabilities, providing occupationally focused assessment and intervention.
Candidate will need to be flexible to the demands of the environment including unpredictable work patterns, deadlines and frequent interruptions. Travel to Out of Borough provisions as requested by the SEN OT caseload.
Complete other duties that may be delegated as appropriate by senior staff. As part of this role you will be expected to supervise and appraise junior staff and contribute to the local staff training programme.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of writing quality EHCP's and be committed to occupationally focused, family centred and evidence-based care.
