Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and committed psychologist or psychotherapist to join the Enfield CAMHS - Service for Children and Adolescents with Neurodevelopmental Conditions (SCAN) team which encompasses the Strengthening the Team Around You (STAY) Project.

The SCAN & STAY team works as part of a well-established and supportive multi-disciplinary team in Enfield CAMHS.

Enfield CAMHS is developing care adopting the iTHRIVE framework for a system approach to care, working in partnership with the wider network around our service users. The service enjoys excellent working relationships with NHS Commissioners, the Joint Service for Disabled Children, Special Schools/SEN team and adult Learning Disability (LD) team, amongst others.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be a psychologist or therapist with sound experience of working with young people with neurodevelopmental conditions / learning disabilities who present with moderate to severe behaviours of concern and providing evidence-based interventions for and with young person and their families.

The post-holder will also have specialist clinical skills in assessment and formulation, drawing on multiple frameworks but including attachment and trauma-informed approaches and working with families; in addition to skills in assessing and treating CYP referred with a range of neuro-developmental conditions and special educational needs.

Essential

  • Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or equivalent as per JD)
  • Registration with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist or with ACP as a therapist as per JD
  • Further training in a specialised area of psychological practice

Desirable

  • Post-qualification training in additional specialised area
  • ADOS 2 training

Skills/ Abilities

Essential

  • Knowledge and skills in the use of complex methods of assessment and intervention
  • Skills in ability to communicate effectively, highly technical/clinically sensitive information to others
  • Capacity to maintain a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive & distressing problems
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies with CYP
  • Clinical risk assessment and safeguarding procedures.

Desirable

  • Skills in undertaking QI projects / service evaluation
  • Skills in providing consultation to others
