Enfield Mental Health Inpatient /RMN/RGN RNLD

Are you a newly qualified nurse, experienced nurse or final year nursing student looking for an opportunity to develop your career in nursing within the specialism of Acute Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Older Adults, PICU and Rehab ? Enfield Mental Health provides you with that opportunity.

We offer rotation pathways from inpatient wards to community teams including crisis teams and community CAMHS. We work closely with our Trust Nursing Education team to support our staff through identified training needs from yearly appraisals and regular supervision.

Some of the courses we will support staff with include:

  • DBT
  • CBT
  • ADOS
  • Medicines management
  • Leadership programs
  • Quality Improvement Training

Main duties of the job

MAIN NURSING DUTIES:CLINICAL

As an effective member of the MDT; be responsible for the development and facilitation of a patient centred approach to care: assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating the care needs of patients and their carers (supported by a preceptor as appropriate).Ensure that statutory and legal requirements of care are incorporated safely within each patient's programme of care.

Observe the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 ensuring the patient is fully informed of their legal position and their rights under the Act.

  • To interpret the significance of clinical observations, act upon them, make available information to senior nurses and medical staff.
  • To determine nursing priorities and plan patient care accordingly including full risk assessment, inform the Nurse in Charge when changes in circumstances may affect standards of care.
  • To meet the physical, psychological, social and cultural needs of the individual and their family, using research based knowledge and skills to maintain the individual's identity.
  • To recognise the needs of the family/carers, ensuring their involvement in care
