Job summary
This role will develop clinical assessment skills, support the development and delivery of psychoeducational groups and workshops. You will support audits and service development projects, build relationships with partner organisations and other community groups. The post will specifically be supporting the CBT team in the service.
You will have excellent communication skills and a real interest in and knowledge of working with adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties and psychosocial problems in a primary care setting. Enthusiasm, confidence and the ability to work flexibly and without close direction are essential.
The Barnet Talking Therapies Team is based at Edgware Community Hospital. You may also work from GP practices and in community settings. Currently we are working in a Hybrid way; working remotely with some days in the clinic.
We will ensure you have a committed team to work with including a peer group of Assistant Psychologists, Psychological Well Being Practitioners, CBT therapists and Counsellors with the opportunity to help us shape and develop the service as it expands.
You will be able to access training and staff development, as well as our robust supervision and governance systems.
This post will report to and be supported by a Senior CBT Therapist
Main duties of the job
- To assist in the conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit projects, teaching and project
- To work within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures, working with a team of clinical and counselling psychologists, CBT therapists, psychological wellbeing practitioners and primary care
- When required, to be involved in routine clinical and administrative tasks of the service.
- To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes, in consultation with the postholder's professional and team/operational manager(s).
- To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and report writing in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society and Trust policies
- To undertake specific administrative duties alongside clinical contacts
- Coming on-site when necessary
- To perform other duties of a similar kind appropriate to the grade, which may be required from time to time by the Clinical Lead.
- Facilitate triage assessments, co-facilitate psycho-educational groups and provide support for people waiting for therapy.
