We are recruiting Non-Medical Prescribers to work in our newly formed CAMHS Division. You can choose to work in Harringey, Barnet or Enfield. You can also chose to work across all the boroughs as part of our NDS team.
The post holder will be an independent prescriber, leading on the non-medical prescribing for the CAMHS service. They will provide both direct and indirect care working with the medical and nursing colleagues. They will provide consultation with other clinicians, offering medication assessments and reviews.
Main duties of the job
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide management and leadership within the CAMHS service for the ADHD pathway.
- To exercise non-medical prescribing responsibilities within the boundaries of the registration for CAMHS; holding an independent non-medical prescribing qualification and work/prescribe within the legal realms of a registered non-medical prescriber.
- Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking
- Provide care and treatment for the presenting CAMHS service users from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation.
- Demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for service users within the CAMHS age group
- They will further develop and lead and manage the ADHD service, working collaboratively with the wider CAMHS service, Adult Mental Health, Primary Care and other allied agencies.
- The post holder will commit to demonstrating critical thinking in the safe clinical decision making process to meet the needs of service users
- They will support and lead the development and delivery of policy and procedures and providing professional leadership as required
- Provide supervision to colleagues undertaking non-medical prescribing training
- Maintain responsibility for their care and treatment and overseeing the prescribing and service delivery of nominated supervisees.
- Recognise and work within own competence and professional code of conduct as regulated by the NMC.
