Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Data Engineer & Platform Lead. This is a new role that will work across both Barnet, Enfield and Haringey (BEH) and Camden and Islington (C and I) mental health trusts and the postholder will play a key role in leading on the accelerated expansion of the Partnership's business intelligence platform and advanced analytical capability to deliver the aims of the Partnership's Digital Strategic Plan.

Note: Interviews will take place on 31st May 2023.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of extract, transform and load (ETL) processes flowing into the Trust's Azure Data Warehouse. The post-holder analyses datasets to determine their intricacies and relationships and designs & builds models to store this data efficiently.

This individual will provide line management to other data engineer.

The postholder should foster strong relationships with their customers to understand their requirements with a view to building them into the Data Warehouse through the standardisation & automation of business process. The post-holder is an expert in the field of Data Warehouse Development within a Microsoft SQL Server environment & supports colleagues across the Trust in this domain.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Information Systems or in related subject (data analytics, health economics, statistics or management information etc) or proven equivalent experience.
  • Advanced certification in SQL Server

Desirable

  • Machine learning qualification

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Experience of working analytically with healthcare data to develop clinical service focused solutions and analysis
  • Experience of building analytical solutions within cloud platforms (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks for example)
  • Expert level of database skills and computer languages - including SQL, relational database design, querying, and reporting functions obtained in a real-world environment

Desirable

  • Experience of working analytically with mental health provider data to develop clinical service focused solutions and analysis

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Specialist knowledge of mapping software and its applications
