Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust are looking to recruit a day programme manager and occupational therapy lead with the specialist Eating Disorder Service. The Eating Disorders Service, (EDS) based at our North London Site, provides inpatient, outpatient and day programme services for patients from across 5 London boroughs and provides care to patients from around the country on the inpatient unit. With recent CQC rating of GOOD the eating disorder service is an innovative and inspiring place to work.
You will need:
- Experience of and specialist skills working with diverse mental health diagnosis with adults and/or children.
- Experience of providing supervision and developing and delivering training to a range of HCP staff
- Experience of working effectively as part of a multi-diciplinary team, and capacity to use occupational therapy theory and practice to inform your approach in managing a multi-diciplinary team and treatment programmes
- Experience of working with 3rd sector organisations and developing partnership working
- Experience of facilitating groups or other relevant experience in this area
- Strong self-management skills to work flexibly and independently
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to negotiate, problem solve and influence.

Main duties of the job
In this role you will manage the Day Programme, lead occupational therapy across the EDS and oversee the running of the peer support group. The day programme is a recovery focused service offering an intensive group therapy programme and nutritional rehabilitation. Your role will include key working and facilitating therapeutic groups, working with the team to manage the day to day running of the service as well as engaging with service development and quality improvement. You will also be responsible for ensuring the occupational therapy service is being run according to key quality indictors and meetings service and national standards, supporting training and career development needs of occupational therapy staff and are engaged in service innovation. The peer support group is facilitated by experts by experience and you will support the operational and supervision needs of the group.
