Job summary
A unique opportunity has arisen to join the Stalking Threat Assessment Centre which is a multiagency co-located service. The post holder would work closely with Metropolitan Police, National Probation Service and Third Sector Advocacy colleagues to divert and manage individuals engaged in stalking behaviour within the Met Force Area and to continue and develop the response to stalking across the capital.
As part of the NHS provision the post holder will liaise with statutory agencies, provide high quality liaison and diversion support, assessment, intervention, case consultation and risk management advice. The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development of the service delivery model and the development of therapeutic interventions for those who engage in stalking behaviour. It is a exciting opportunity to develop a speciality in a dynamic and emerging area.
The North London Forensic Service role will be based within the Medium or Low Secure Wards and the post holder will provide assessment, treatment and care planning as part of a ward MDT.
The post is available as a 0.5 WTE post (STAC) or as a 1.0 WTE split post. ( STAC and North London Forensic Service)
Main duties of the job
To provide highly specialist psychological knowledge, consultation, risk management guidance, assessment and intervention to those who engage in stalking behaviour in the Metropolitan Force Area who are identified by STAC.
To provide a range of screening referrals andinvolve the gathering of extensive background information on the person from primary and secondary NHS services. Information may also be gathered form a range of systems under the appropriate legal systems. The post holder will be required to undertake a range of complex assessments, in addition to the delivery of formulation driven therapeutic interventions for those who engage in stalking behaviour.
The post holder will work in community settings and in partnership with other organisations such as the National Probation Service, Metropolitan Police and Health and Social Care.

Essential
- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996), including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
- Registration with the HCPC as a clinical psychologist.
Desirable
- Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of young adults across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings.
- Minimum 1 years' experience of working in a Mental health setting.
Desirable
- Experience of working in consultation and collaboratively with Social Care Teams.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
