Job summary
This is a new Consultant post that has been developed to lead a newly developed NCL Wide Camhs Home Treatment Team. The role will be based in Barnet and will work across the NCL (Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden and Islington).
It is anticipated that the post holder will lead on the development of the new NCL CAMHS Home Treatment Team and in the development of the clinical model.
As the Responsible Clinician, this role is integral to the HTT service, providing medical expertise towards the assessment, diagnosis and management of children and adolescents presenting in crisis with mental health problems who have been identified as requiring Tier 4 inpatient service who can be managed at home with intensive support.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will also provide support to clinical colleagues in deciding the most appropriate intervention for patients referred to the service. This will include providing direct interventions in the patient's own home or community setting, liaising with the wards to facilitate early discharge from inpatient units in the NCL as well as collaborative working with other CAMHS services, community services, social care, private providers and the voluntary sector to provide a seamless pathway for children and adolescents.
On-call responsibilities will consist of participating in the Tri Borough (Barnet, Enfield and Haringey) Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Consultant evening and weekend duty rota. This is currently a one in 14 rota (subject to change, 2 first on each month).
The successful candidate will be expected to have key leadership roles in terms of service development and the creation of an evolving service to CYP within the NCL. As such there will be significant liaison with partners in the NCEL.

- Certificate of Completion of Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Section 12(2) Approval under Mental Health Act and eligible to act as Responsible Clinician for detained patients or eligible

- Experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Registered for the Continuing Professional Development Programme in the Royal College of Psychiatrists
